Uluwatu is a must-visit region of Bali, especially if you love breathtaking views and good surfing. However, another pretty much mandatory item on your Bali bucket list is waterfalls.
To make sure you can soak in the best of what Bali nature has to offer, have the opportunity to swim in natural pools, do some basic trekking, or even do a water purification ritual in a hidden waterfall, we have gathered the best bali waterfalls that are close to Uluwatu so you can cover them in a day trip!
Is There A Waterfall In Uluwatu?
The sad truth is that, due to the landscape and limestone bedrock of the Bukit Peninsula where Uluwatu is located, that area doesn’t have any waterfalls.
If you’re staying in Uluwatu, you will have to travel inland or to North Bali to find some epic waterfalls. Gladly, there are a few that are not that far away.
The most popular Bali waterfalls are located around Ubud (Bangli area), in Munduk, and in Northern Bali.
Our Favourite Waterfalls Near Uluwatu (Within 2 Hours Drive)
Tegenungan Waterfall (Blangsinga Waterfall)

Tegenungan waterfall in Bali is one of the most visited (and crowded) waterfalls on the island, and for a good reason – the waterfall itself and the surrounding views are amazing.
It is a stunning, tall waterfall in the valley that you can see from the top, surrounded by lush greenery and clifftop cafes. Lots of viewpoints to take pictures.
If you don’t feel like going all the way down, you can enjoy this beauty from one of the panoramic cafes. But if you do go down, you can get into the refreshing natural swimming pool as a reward, so bring a swimsuit.
Note that Blangsinga and Tegenungan are both names of the same waterfall, just from different access points.

Many waterfall tours include Kanto Lampo waterfall in Bali, so you can expect a bit more crowds, but we still think it is worth the visit.
Kanto Lampo’s multi-tiered cascades, where you can climb and sit on a rock, create such an amazing backdrop for photos! Also, a beautiful canyon leads to this waterfall. Mind your step around those slippery rocks.
The entrance fee is 25,000 IDR (2.5 AUD).

Beautiful hidden gem in East Bali, Bangkiang Djaran waterfall is probably one of our favourite waterfalls in Bali.
Completely submerged in the lush jungle, it rises high above the rapid river and a deep pool, in fact, is not one but three waterfalls that you can discover on the trail.
Where Is It? Br Jelekungkang, Taman Bali, Kec. Bangli, Kabupaten Bangli, Bali 80752
Air Terjun Tukad Unda

Unlike other waterfalls on the list, this local attraction is not a natural wonder; it is technically a cascading water flow of the dam, but locals call it a waterfall and spend weekends splashing here, so the name stuck.
The entrance fee is 10,000 IDR (1 AUD).
Where Is It? FC86+F99, Tukad Yeh Unda, Semarapura Kelod Kangin, Kec. Karangasem, Kabupaten Klungkung, Bali 80761
Air Terjun Layana

A stunning waterfall on the Petanu River that you can observe from the cafe or viewpoint above it, but unfortunately, it is not easy to get down to it, and although it falls directly into the river, people usually don’t swim here.
There are rarely any tourists here, no entrance fee, but you will need to pay for parking and most likely have to order a drink or a snack at the cafe.
Where Is It? Bedulu, Blahbatuh, Gianyar Regency, Bali 80582

Goa Rang Reng Waterfall in Bali is 60 km away from Uluwatu (about 2 hours). It is not at all tall, but rather wide and looks more like an elevated rapid with massive rocks and swirling water.
The steps and trails to it lie through jungles, and some stone carvings, very authentic and peaceful atmosphere reigns over there.
The entrance fee is about 25,000 IDR (2.5 AUD). You can also ask the guide to take you to the temple and the sacred cave near the waterfall.

Absolutely iconic waterfall in Bali, Tukad Cepung is famous for its entrance: through a stunning canyon and a cave. The photos taken there are out of this world!
Its natural pool is quite shallow, so no swimming here.
The entrance costs 30,000 IDR (3 AUD) per person.

Suwat Waterfall

Suwat is one of the great waterfalls in Bali with fewer tourists! It is a 15-m tall waterfall you can access after a short trek through the rainforest. You can also explore the bamboo forest and canyons there.
Probably the most expensive entrance ticket on our list – 40,000 IDR (4 AUD).

Final waterfall on our list, but not to be overlooked! Goa Raja waterfall is very well maintained, the trail has steps and signs, and you are in for a journey through jungle, cave, river, and temples.

- Jembong Waterfall – a tall rocky waterfall within a well-maintained territory with man-made pools and bridges.
- Banyumala Waterfalls are one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali. Those are actually twin waterfalls falling into a big natural pool. Need to climb down about 200-300 stairs to reach this waterfall.
