Birthday Party Bali: Our Guide To Great Birthday Venues

A week or two in Bali is just what the doctor ordered for everyone who enjoys a bit of fun in the sun.

And if you’re going to have a birthday when you’re here, that’s awesome, and our team has some great ideas that could suit you for your party.

In fact, they’ve got some suggestions for both children’s party venues and for adults, too, because whoever you are, if you have a birthday, Bali is an amazing place to celebrate it.

Infinity Pools, Sunset Views, Cocktails And More: FINNS Beach Club

While of course, you could host a private event in any style you like in the house you rent for the week or jump in a Grab and head to any fine dining spot on the island, you could do that at home, and we think if you’re in Bali, you should relax and let someone else throw the party and then you can be in the middle of the action without a care in the world.

And the spot to do that is FINNS Beach Club. FINNS is the world’s best beach club, and its address in Berawa, Canggu ensures it sits on 170 meters of coastline with the most amazing sunset view over the Indian Ocean in Bali.

From your arrival in the club until the moment you leave, you’re going to have the most amazing time possible.

You will be able to swim in infinity pools with swim-up bars serving cold cocktails, dance to live music from local DJs and vocalists, and witness the most incredible entertainment of any beach club, anywhere.

The club has three on-site restaurants for you to enjoy tasty food from around the world (our tip is to mix and match things to your heart’s content – it’s all so good).

They also have an endless number of bars for you to explore and enjoy cold drinks with views of the incredible Balinese architecture and the sparkling ocean water by the beach.

FINNS is the island’s party specialist, and they can ensure that no matter how many guys and girls come to play, everyone will feel like a VIP.

You can book a birthday package easily for a small group on their website, but if there are more than 20 of you coming, you should contact their events team to arrange something tailored to your group. There’s always room for one more at FINNS.

We should stress, though, that this is the most popular spot in Bali; 1 in 4 people who come to this island visit FINNS Beach Club, so make sure to book early to avoid disappointment. It’s also important to know that FINNS is an adults-only venue.

Waterbom – Kids And Adults With Waterslides

In Kuta, you’ll find Waterbom, Southeast Asia’s biggest waterpark, and it’s a great place for fun and games for all ages on a birthday.

In addition to 26 different slides for you to enjoy, they have gazebos where you can lounge around and have some chill time before you head back to the hotel.

They also provide an excellent selection of food and drinks, and if you book in advance, you can order a cake for the person of the day. You have two cafes, a food court and three bars at your disposal all day long, in fact.

There’s even a formal birthday party which gets 10 people into the park, a gazebo with decorations, a birthday cake, some non-alcoholic drinks, a gift and more. If you want to bring some more friends along, they’ll be happy to provide a discounted rate for additional guests, too.

Waterbom is a lot of fun for everyone. Just make sure to take some sunscreen, you don’t want sunburn on your birthday.

Mookiland Family Park – Perfect For Children

Mookiland is a place with a ton of indoor and outdoor activities and playground equipment for children to enjoy.

One of the big highlights of this place is its zipline, which we’ve found will keep every kid entertained for hours.

They also have a fabulous wet play area with inflatables where everyone can cool off easily after running around for the day.

Our kids love the menu in the cafe at Mookiland because they say there’s nothing on there that they don’t want to eat. And in our experience, even fussy eaters will happily chow down here.

Best of all, this event venue has a birthday planning team which can arrange a themed party for the little ones.

Of course, you need to book this sometime in advance to allow them proper preparation time but it’s worth it, their experienced team really knows how to keep kids happy all day long.

FAQs

Do They Celebrate Birthdays In Bali?

Yes, people celebrate their birthdays on the island. Firstly, local Hindu people follow a calendar known as the Pawukon Calendar, which means they are lucky enough to celebrate their birthdays every 210 days rather than every 365 as in other cultures.

This celebration usually takes place within the community and will involve prayer and giving up offerings to the island’s gods. There is also some time spent with family on this special occasion, and celebrants will wear a white thread bracelet.

For those locals outside of the Hindu tradition (and there are many Confucians, Buddhists, Christians and Muslim locals here), birthdays often follow a more traditional form with gifts on the anniversary of the birth.

One thing’s for sure, with the famous local tolerance for other customs, you are welcome to celebrate anyway that you want to (within the law) here in Bali.

What’s The Best Place To Party In Bali?

While there are plenty of places where you can party in Bali, there’s really only one place that has made it its mission to deliver an incredible open-air party by the Indian Ocean every day, and that’s the world’s best beach club, FINNS Beach Club.

It’s the ultimate event venue, and its professional bartenders and friendly staff strive to ensure that every guest has a dream event. There’s also live music from DJs and vocalists, tasty cocktails, incredible entertainment, infinity pools with swim-up bars, an absolutely wow view of the sunset and a place to dance into the night.

Better still, it also has excellent restaurants where you can discover dishes from around the world, mix and match them to create your perfect meal and indulge in incredible desserts. Everyone feels like a VIP at FINNS.

Where’s The Best Place In Bali To Celebrate Your Birthday?

For adults, we would choose FINNS Beach Club, though we do know that some people choose to hire a private DJ for their own villa, but we think it’s better to let somebody else organise the party so you and your friends can have fun as a group, without the stress of having to pour drinks, organise return transfers to and from the venue, or even have to bake a cake.

FINNS is an adult playground, and it just makes sense to throw a party in the space best known for partying on the island.

For kids, there are plenty of options. Of course, you could take them to the zoo or to Waterbom, Southeast Asia’s biggest waterpark, and then head to a restaurant for cake, ice cream, maybe even some decorations. It’s easy to host a kids’ party anywhere in Bali.

Is Canggu Or Seminyak A Better Choice For Partying?

You can have a fabulous party in either town. Seminyak is all upmarket spots, which can cost more than average, and is full of the young, hip, wealthy and sometimes, unbearably trendy.

For the rest of us, Canggu is the better choice. You’ll find that FINNS Beach Club is in this part of the island, along with a welcoming array of bars, restaurants, cafes, etc., where you can enjoy a birthday party too.
