Best Pizza Bali: 12 Places That Rise Above The Rest

Bali has one of the most varied food scenes in Southeast Asia, and pizza has become a favourite across the island. From small neighbourhood pizzerias and traditional Italian restaurants to lively Canggu hangouts and wood-fired ovens hidden among the rice fields, there are some seriously good places to grab a slice.

You’ll find everything from classic Neapolitan-style pizza with soft crusts to huge New York-style slices, alongside plenty of creative toppings and excellent vegetarian and vegan options. Some restaurants stick closely to Italian tradition, while others have developed their own take on what makes a great pizza.

The difficult part is deciding where to go. In this guide, we’ve picked 12 of our favourite pizza spots in Bali, covering everything from well-known names in Canggu and Uluwatu to a few places further afield that are well worth seeking out.

TL;DR: Summary Of Bali’s Best Pizza Spots

  • Bali has excellent pizza, from traditional Neapolitan and wood-fired favourites to huge New York-style slices.
  • Our picks cover the island, including Canggu, Seminyak, Uluwatu, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Ubud, Renon and Lovina.
  • FINNS combines pizza with a full beach club day, while Tanda, Tony’s and Warung Papa offer three very different takes on a great slice.

12 Best Pizza Spots In Bali

FINNS Beach Club – Canggu

FINNS Beach Club might be best known for its pools, parties and beachfront setting, but it also takes its food seriously. If pizza cravings hit during a day at FINNS, Giorgio’s Pizza is the dedicated Italian kitchen serving freshly made pizzas across the venue.

One of the best things about ordering pizza here is that you don’t need to sit in a specific restaurant to enjoy it. Order from Monsoon Restaurant, have pizza delivered to your VIP area, daybed or cabana, or enjoy it pretty much anywhere else across the entire venue.

There’s also a huge choice of other food available from FINNS’ international kitchens, making it particularly useful for big groups where not everyone wants pizza.

Of course, the setting is difficult to beat. You can enjoy your pizza beside the pool, overlooking Berawa Beach, or with a cold drink as the sun goes down before the evening party gets underway. There aren’t many pizza places in Bali where lunch can quite so easily turn into an entire day out.

L’Osteria Pizza e Cucina- Uluwatu

image source: L’Osteria Pizza e Cucina Uluwatu google business

L’Osteria Pizza e Cucina has become one of the most popular Italian joints in Uluwatu, serving traditional Italian food from its spot on Jalan Labuansait in Pecatu.

Pizza is one of the main attractions, with a wide choice ranging from simple classics to more indulgent combinations topped with ingredients such as creamy burrata cheese, prosciutto and parmesan cheese. The dough is given plenty of time to develop before being cooked at high temperatures, creating the soft, blistered pizza crust associated with Neapolitan-style.

There’s plenty beyond pizza too, including fresh pasta and other Italian favourites, making L’Osteria a good choice when you want a proper sit-down meal rather than simply grabbing a quick slice.

The Uluwatu outlet is the location we’ve featured here, but you’ll find L’Osteria elsewhere around Bali as well. The group also has spots in Canggu, Ubud, Jimbaran and Sanur, so there’s more than one place to get your pizza feast on across the island.

Luigi’s Hot Pizza – Canggu

Luigi’s Hot Pizza has been part of Canggu’s dining and nightlife scene for years, combining pizza with music, drinks, and the kind of lively atmosphere the area is known for.

The pizzas take inspiration from Naples, with a choice of classic toppings alongside some more creative combinations. It’s a good spot for sharing several pizzas across the table, especially if you’re with a group and want to try more than one. There are vegetarian choices available too, along with plenty of drinks to keep the evening going.

Luigi’s is about more than simply stopping somewhere to eat. DJs, parties, and regular events give the place a cool vibe later in the evening, and it can become considerably livelier once the sun goes down.

If you want somewhere quiet and traditional, there are other options on this list. But for good pizza combined with the energy of a Canggu night out, Luigi’s remains one of the area’s best-known choices.

Wild Habit Pizza – Seminyak

image source: Wild Habit Pizza google business

Wild Habit Pizza specialises in Neapolitan-style pizza. The dough is fermented for three days before being cooked at high heat in a traditional wood-fired oven, producing a thin base with a light, airy crust around the edges.

There’s a good mix of classics and more creative combinations. The signature Wild Habit Pizza comes topped with burrata, smoked prosciutto, panna cream, parmigiano, rocket and cherry tomatoes, while familiar choices such as Margherita are available if you prefer to keep things traditional.

Pizza may be the main attraction, but it isn’t the only reason to visit. There’s also a selection of pasta, small plates, grilled dishes, craft beer and handcrafted cocktails, giving you plenty of options if you’re planning to stay for more than a quick bite.

For properly prepared wood-fired pizza in the middle of Seminyak, Wild Habit is an easy one to add to the list.

Tanda Pizza Restaurant – Lovina

image source: Tanda Pizza Restaurant google business

Tanda Pizza is proof that you don’t need to stay in Bali’s southern tourist centres to find seriously good Italian cooking. Hidden among the rice paddies of Kaliasem near Lovina, it combines authentic Italian cuisine with a setting that feels completely different from most of the other spots on this list.

The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven, with dough fermented for 48 hours to create a crisp exterior and soft, airy centre. There’s a large selection, including classics such as Margherita and Diavola pizza, alongside quattro formaggi, burrata pizza and Tanda’s own signature creation. Ingredients include San Marzano tomatoes and imported Italian cheeses, while fresh pasta is made in-house.

Tanda is run by an Italian chef with around 30 years of experience and his Indonesian wife, and the attention to traditional methods is a big part of its appeal.

If you’re travelling through North Bali, this is much more than a token Lovina inclusion. The combination of proper Italian cooking and a peaceful rice field not far from the beach setting makes Tanda well worth a visit.

Warung Papa Pizza – Sanur

image source: Warung Papa Pizza – Sanur google business

Warung Papa Pizza offers something rather different in Sanur. It’s a small, independent spot tucked away on Jalan Pungutan, with a laid-back local feel and pizzas that mix familiar Italian ideas with flavours from Bali.

Alongside more conventional choices, you’ll find creations such as Ayam Betutu Pizza, topped with spicy Balinese chicken, tomato sauce, peppers, onion, basil and mozzarella. There’s also a Balinese pork version, giving the selection a local twist rather than simply reproducing the same combinations found at every other pizzeria.

The affordable prices are a bonus too, which helps make Warung Papa a good choice when you simply want pizza without turning the evening into an expensive occasion. The choice extends beyond pizza, but it remains at the heart of what the place is known for.

Sanur has plenty of polished dining options, but Warung Papa earns its place here by being a bit more individual and original. It’s casual, distinctly Balinese, and a nice change from the more traditional Italian-style spots elsewhere on our list.

Tony’s New York Pizza – Seminyak

image source: Tony’s New York Pizza – Seminyak google business

Most of the pizza spots on this list lean towards Italian and Neapolitan traditions, but Tony’s takes things in a different direction. As the name suggests, this is the place to come when you’re craving New York-style pizza in Seminyak.

Expect the characteristics that define the style: large slices, a crispy crust, and the sort of pizza that’s easy to fold and eat by hand. You can order by the slice or go for a whole pie if you’re sharing, with plenty of different toppings and combinations to choose from.

One of the most popular choices is the Buffalo Chicken Slice, made with a white base and topped with buffalo chicken, mozzarella, ranch and hot sauce. It’s a proper American-style combination and a good one to try if you want something different from the more traditional Italian toppings found elsewhere on this list.

The casual approach is part of the appeal. Like any good New York pizza joint, you don’t have to commit to a whole pie either. Giant slices are available individually, while the Buffalo and other flavours can also be ordered as whole 9, 12 or 18-inch pizzas if you’re sharing or particularly hungry.

We’ve featured the Seminyak branch here, but Tony’s has expanded around Bali, with other locations including Canggu, Umalas, Ungasan and Batu Bolong. So if a New York-style slice is what you’re after, you may find a Tony’s closer to where you’re staying.

Roby Pizza Italiana – Nusa Dua

image source: Roby Pizza Italiana google business

There’s no shortage of pizza around Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa, but Roby Pizza Italiana remains one of our favourites. It’s a small, family-run place on Jalan Pratama, founded by Roberto, an Italian chef from Calabria who runs the business with his wife.

That personal connection to Italy is a big part of Roby’s appeal. The focus is on straightforward Italian cooking rather than creating an elaborate dining experience, with thin-crust pizzas prepared alongside other familiar Italian dishes. Roberto himself remains closely associated with the kitchen, giving the place a more personal feel than many of the larger options around Nusa Dua.

Roby has also built an impressive reputation over the years, particularly considering its relatively modest setting. It’s the sort of place people seek out specifically rather than simply stumble across while walking through a resort.

If you’re staying around Nusa Dua or Tanjung Benoa and want pizza without the polished hotel surroundings, Roby is well worth having on your radar.

Irma by Bacaro – Canggu

image source: Irma by Bacaro google business

Irma by Bacaro sits in the heart of Berawa and combines authentic Italian cooking with the livelier side of Canggu. Formerly known as Bacaro Pizza, the name has changed, but the Neapolitan pizza remains the same, and it’s what brings people through the door.

There’s a strong focus on traditional Italian flavours, with pizzas ranging from familiar classics to combinations such as the Calabrese, topped with spicy sausage and gorgonzola. The Bacaro is another signature choice, while the wider selection includes pasta and Italian favourites if you want more than pizza.

The atmosphere also separates Irma from some of the more traditional pizzerias on our list. It stays open late, with drinks, music and DJ-powered nights giving it considerably more energy as the evening gets going. That makes it equally suited to starting a night out in Berawa or simply settling in for pizza and a few drinks.

Pizzeria Italia – Uluwatu

image source: PIZZERIA ITALIA google business

Pizzeria Italia is a long-standing option in Pecatu and takes a straightforward approach to Italian cooking. There’s a huge choice of pizzas, making this particularly useful when you’re with people who can never agree on toppings.

You’ll find everything from a classic Margherita to Diavola, quattro formaggi, prosciutto and mushroom, seafood and meat-heavy combinations. There are also calzones and plenty of less traditional choices, so you can keep things simple or try something different.

Prices are another reason Pizzeria Italia remains popular. Uluwatu’s dining scene has become noticeably more expensive as the area has developed, but this is still somewhere you can head for a decent Italian meal without automatically turning it into a big night out.

We’ve featured the Uluwatu location here, but there’s also Pizzeria Italia II in Ungasan if you’re staying over that way.

Mamma Mia Pizza & Pasta – Ubud & Renon

image source: Mamma Mia Pizza & Pasta google business

We’ve grouped Mamma Mia’s Ubud and Renon locations together because both belong to the same family-run business and serve the same Southern Italian recipes. They both have the same food to offer, but the two locations have quite different atmospheres and surroundings.

The original Ubud branch is on Jalan Raya Pengosekan and naturally attracts more travellers and expats, with an informal setting close to the centre of one of Bali’s busiest destinations. The newer Renon branch is in a quieter, more residential part of Denpasar, attracting more local families and regulars while remaining convenient for anyone staying around Sanur.

The cooking, however, remains consistent between the two. Wood-fired pizza is a speciality, alongside homemade pasta prepared fresh each day and slow-cooked sauces based on family recipes. The pizza selection covers plenty of Italian classics, while the wider choice of pasta and other Southern Italian favourites makes Mamma Mia particularly useful if not everyone wants the same thing.

La Baracca Bali – Uluwatu

image source: La Baracca Bali (Uluwatu) google business

La Baracca has been serving Italian favourites in Bali for years, with its Uluwatu branch sitting conveniently on Jalan Labuansait in Pecatu. The setting is casual and rustic, with comfy seating and a relaxed atmosphere rather than anything overly formal.

The pizza menu offers a broad choice, alongside homemade pasta and other familiar Italian dishes. There are plenty of different toppings to choose from, with an emphasis on authentic recipes and quality ingredients. There’s no shortage of vegetarian pizzas, like most pizza joints, but you can also find vegan pizzas here, with special vegan cheese!

We’ve featured the Uluwatu branch, but La Baracca also has locations elsewhere in Bali, including Seminyak and Ubud. It’s a family-friendly option for straightforward Italian cooking, and having several branches makes it an easy name to keep in mind as you travel around the island.
